Alliance Executive Director
Tracy Delaney, PhD, RD, is founding director of the Public Health Alliance of Southern California. Dr. Delaney has a proven track record of successfully spearheading innovative, multidisciplinary initiatives resulting in the integration of health within land use and transportation, food systems and regional community indicators. She is an accomplished tactician securing over $34 million in funding to support healthy communities.
Previously, at the County of San Diego’s Public Health Services, Dr. Delaney was Director of Chronic Disease and Health Equity. She was Principal Investigator and Director of the $16 M Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW) grant, which was the largest federal obesity prevention award, as well as the subsequent Community Transformation Grant (CTG). Accomplishment highlights include: healthy general plans, urban agriculture policy, park equity master plan, incentivized EBT farmer’s markets, health impact assessment, procurements of local produce, countywide safe routes to school strategic plan, and community garden ordinance.
She holds a doctorate in Nutrition from University of California, Davis, is a registered dietician and a certified Health Fitness Director with the American College of Sports Medicine.
