MCFH / Community Health Nurses

  • Include water supply and quality safety checks into home health visits:
    • Source of drinking water
    • Filtration practices (including how often water purification filter changed)
    • Education about safety of tap water.
    • Provide water resources, as appropriate
  • Create and distribute home health materials that include resources on appropriate drought-time water use while protecting health
  • Make sure community members are aware of appropriate prescription drug disposal methods to ensure safe water quality
  • Provide resources for soil and water testing in areas of concern
  • Serve as a resource for identification and outreach for water vulnerable communities for:
    • Emergency Preparedness Plans
    • Water Agencies Vulnerability Assessments and Action Plans
